How to Track Your Ovulation

When the hubby and I got married some 4 years ago, we were so lucky and got blessed with a little boy right away.  This might be because I am also one of those lucky women who happen to have normal menstrual cycle.  Every woman has a unique cycle on her own.  Some range from 22 days, some longer.  Identifying this cycle can help us whether we are planning to conceive or not.

When a couple is trying to get pregnant, one of the most important things to do is for the woman to be able to pinpoint her ovulation day. In a woman’s single cycle, there’s only a short window of opportunity for her body to be able to get pregnant – this is called ovulation. This is the time during her cycle that her body is most fertile, says research at www.pregnancytips.org. One of the ways to track ovulation is using a BBT thermometer. A BBT or a basal body temperature thermometer, compared to a regular thermometer is very sensitive and can detect even the slightest change in your temperature. When you purchase a BBT thermometer over the counter, it should come with a graph or chart that you can use as you check your temperature daily. You should take your temperature twice a day, one after wake and one before going to sleep. As you go along, you should be able to determine your body’s regular temperature. What we are looking for is the sudden rise or drop in your temperature. When you see that showing in your chart, you are probably ovulating.

Neo’s 3rd Birthday ala Thomas and Friends

The apple of Neo’s eyes this year is Thomas and Friends so it is but fitting that we give him a Thomas and Friends themed simple house party.  Last year, we gave him a Pocoyo themed party.

Being a fan of DIY (do-it-yourself) and with only 4 days to plan a birthday for our little boy, we printed banners and cut out Thomas and Friends decors to adorn the house.

The house party was a last minute decision we have to make.  Initially, we were planning on a school party and order food from a fast food restaurant – but since Super Typhoon Ruby was expected to land at Cavite by Dec 8-9, classes were suspended ahead of time.  So the hubby and I planned a simple house party to thank the Lord for Neo’s 3^rd year in this world.

We are so thankful because it was such a fun party and we were able to invite more people than last year and most of all, our birthday boy was so happy.  J

Happy 3rd Birthday, Neo!

Three years ago, I was blessed with a gift that taught me a lot of things.  This gift taught me how to love someone a thousand times more than myself.  It also taught me how to care, be responsible, and be understanding even when situation seems to be out of control.  This gift taught me how to be selfless.

This gift also gave life a whole new meaning.  That happiness happens continuously not just in a split second.  That being a beautiful person is not just what you have outside and inside but what positive things you can channel to others too.  That you can give more than what you have – and this is not just the material things.  That loving means so much more than just a simple I love you.   

This gift called motherhood is what I received three years ago when my little boy was born.  Thank you, anak, for making Mama a better person because you came into Mama’s life.
