My LA Adventure (Legaspi, Albay) – Part 2

Legaspi, Albay is a must see place in the Bicol.  But like I said in the first part of my blog, all adventures and tourist spots are centered in just viewing the beauty of Mayon.

After visiting Cagsawa Ruins, someone from the tourism office (I’m not sure if this is true), sales talked us to trying the ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle).  Zac Efron tried it daw when he went to Albay – who am I to say no di ba?

ATV costs differ from the trail to the type of vehicle.  Our team chose the nearest trail: Cagsawa Trail.  I rode the 350cc ATV.  It cost me Php699.  (The 500cc will cost Php1499 for the same trail).

After registration and payment, we were briefed.

A test drive was done before we started our ride.

Then off we go.

This ride is not for the fainthearted.  The trail has a lot of rocks and stones in it, so for the whole duration of the ride, I felt like I will lose my balance and be trampled over by the ATV.  Also, I experienced hand and wrist pain after the ride.  But it was worth the experience. J

Next stop: Lignon Hill.

This is the small hill beside Mayon Volcano.  This is not really that close to Mayon.  PhilVocs has their Observatory in here.  And the nice part is, they made this hill a tourist attraction and you can see the whole city when you’re up there. (Entrance: Php20 per person).

I had a blast at Legaspi, Albay.  My stay was quick but with an efficient (and free) tour guide, I was able to visit Legaspi’s pride J

My LA Adventure (Legaspi, Albay) – Part 1

Two weeks ago, you will locate me at the Northern part of Luzon as I went to Santiago, Isabela.  Last Monday naman, you can locate me at the Southern part of Luzon since I went to LA.  Legaspi, Albay.

Colds, cough, sore throat, and headache are the aftermath of my Santiago land trip. So needless to say, I booked a plane flight to Legaspi.  I woke up early Monday morning not feeling okay.  Leo drove me to Coastal where my dad would take me to the airport.  I really was not feeling well that morning that I vomited at Cavitex.  Yes.  A first for me.

Thankfully, during the plane ride, I felt better.  I had the quickest flight of all.  Manila to Legaspi in 30-45mins.  When we touched down, this is what greeted me.

I spent most of my Monday having a meeting for work and staying at the hotel afterwards.  By dinner time, I met with 2 of my colleagues passing by Legaspi on their way to Samar.  We ate at Small Talk.  (I don’t have a picture of the restaurant, but it doesn’t look like a resto but more of a home.)  They served delicious tasting foods – minus the fact that they served our food after one hour of wait (they must have cooked it pa) and their Seafood Paella is salty.

The next day, I got up so early.  My flight is in the afternoon pa and I wanted to explore Legaspi for a bit. I was just so lucky that my colleagues have been going back and forth Legaspi so they know the roads and ways to the tourist spots (parang free tour guide).

Mayon Volcano is so majestic.  All over the province, you will see its beauty.  Just a bit of historical background: Mayon’s former name daw is Magayon which means Maganda (Beautiful).  It is located in Daraga, Albay.  Daraga is the local term for Dalaga (Maiden).  Combining it, you will have Daraga Magayon = Beautiful Maiden.  And it is indeed beautiful.

All the tourist spots in Legaspi are centered in just viewing the Mayon Volcano.  Just different views and different activities, but same Mayon.  Our first stop: Cagsawa Ruins.

Cagsawa Ruins are the remnants of the Cagsawa Church.  The whole church was buried when Mayon Volcano erupted last 1814.  The only remaining piece of the Cagsawa Church is the bell tower.

You have to pay Php10 each to see Cagsawa Ruins and Php10 for the parking fee.

A selfie at Cagsawa Ruins.

More LA Adventure on my next post. J

Family Weekend Kwento #8

It’s almost the end of the work week – but I’m still busy.  This will go on until summer L and needless to say, last weekend, I was at work to finish some tasks I left over last Friday (I hope this will not be the case this week).  I brought Papa Leo, Neo, and Ate Espie with me.

We had lunch at Max’s where the little boy busied himself scribbling at the paper place mats.

After that we went to SM MOA to do our groceries.  Last week and up to now, me, Leo, and Ate Espie have coughs.  We've been coughing so much in the house.  Thankfully Neo has strong immune system that he didn't catch the virus (until now, and hopefully will not until we all get well).

By Sunday, we had Neo's haircut.  When you have a baby boy, you have to have their haircut every other month.  Because when the hair grows so long, the head gets itchy, and smelly due to sweat. Having Neo’s haircut is now a challenge.  The moment he sees a barber, he would cry, shake his head, and wail.  A promise to eat at Jollibee after the haircut made Neo stop crying.

The little boy’s new haircut.
