Boracay 2015: Alta Vista de Boracay

Alta Vista de Boracay, located at almost the northern part of Boracay, was our home for 3 days when we went to Boracay.  Booking Alta Vista was something unplanned.  Whenever we travel, I always make sure to book a hotel that is practical and comfortable as we have a little boy with us.  To be honest, Alta Vista is more than comfortable but is not practical.

Let me show you pictures and give you some reviews on why Alta Vista de Boracay is more than comfortable and is really a gem among Boracay hotels.

Early Check-in and Late Check-Out

As mentioned in my previous post, we arrived at Boracay at 8am.  We rode the free shuttle to Alta Vista and arrived there some time 930am.  We waited for 10mins because our room is being made up, and we were allowed early check in.  Check in time is 2pm.

Our flight back to Manila is at Kalibo Airport scheduled at 8pm.  We were allowed late check-out at 2pm.  Check out time if 12noon.

The vast lobby of Alta Vista made it possible for the little boy to run around.

We only asked once and they allowed us.  This might be because Alta Vista has more than 500 hotel rooms.

Warm Welcome

Aside from the welcome drinks which we were treated while waiting, we were welcomed by courteous hotel staffs.  From the reception, concierge, shuttle drivers, all of them looked so happy to assist guests.

Welcome drinks for us.

When we got the go signal to go to our room, the hotel staffs started picking up our luggage and putting it in the shuttle.  Shocked, I asked: “kuya, malayo ba ung room namin? “  To which he replied: “hindi po Ma’am.  Baka lang po kasi pagod kayo sa byahe at mas gusto nyo na hindi maglakad”.

All luggages are brought in their concierge and are labeled.

The Room

Who wouldn’t want a beautiful and spacious room with complete amenities?  Let the pictures below give you a virtual tour of our room.

A family of four can comfortably fit in.
You can bring in food and heat it in the microwave.

Rooms in Alta Vista are provided with a personal refrigerator, microwave oven, electric kettle, complimentary bottled water, dining set (which includes plates, bowls, spoon and fork, drinking glasses, and even carafe).  Somehow, you will really feel at home because of the condo-like set up of each room.

Bathroom has a bathtub and complete set of toiletries as well as hair dryer.  Alta Vista offers a lot of towels (bath towel, hand towel, face towel, and the likes) however, you cannot bring it at the beach or even at their pool.  They will provide you a different set of towel for that.

The Amenities and Services

Complete room amenities give guests the wonderful feeling inside the hotel room.  But the hotel itself with its amenities gives more warmth to guests.  Alta Vista offers a wonderful view of the area.

According to their website, Alta Vista sits on a 4 hectare hillside area.  It is no wonder that the little boy can run around so much at this place.

It also has an infinity pool that’s popular to kids.

They also offer spa services for guests.

Alta Vista's buildings are named after the world's highest peak.  Our room is located at Fuji building.

Buffet Breakfast

I love hotels that offer buffet breakfast.  I am a believer that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and as tourists, we want to have full stomachs before doing our daily itineraries and activities.

Alta Veranda, the restaurant, offers a good variety of food choices during breakfast buffet (and the menu changes daily).  I have been to hotels that offers the same menu for buffet breakfast and nakakasawa.

Shuttle Service

Because Alta Vista is located at the northern part of the island, they offer free shuttle service to D’mall every hour.  The shuttle leaves Alta Vista every 40th of the hour starting 8:40am until 11:40pm.  It arrives at the D’mall exactly after 20mins and leaves thereafter.  If you want to use the shuttle outside of the free hours it operate, you will have to pay for additional charge.

Waiting area going to D’mall.

They also offer free shuttle service to Puka Beach.  You just have to schedule it at their concierge.

*I forgot to give this suggestion but free shuttle service to D’mall should be scheduled earlier than 8:40am.   This is because some guest would want to be at the beach earlier than 9am.

Who wouldn’t want to stay in a hotel like Alta Vista?  Even foreigners like the place.  During our entire stay, I could only count 2 or 3 Filipinos with us (most of the guests are foreign).  With the beautiful hotel amenities and all those perks, Alta Vista sure comes with a price.  That is what makes it not practical.  L

Alta Vista’s Studio Suite cost Php7,320 for 2 person and Php1,830 for additional pax.  It would cost us Php18,300 for 3days/2nights stay for us.  Quite expensive, however we were able to stay at Alta Vista for Php2,500 for 2 person and Php800 for additional pax.  That’s a total of Php6,600 for all of us (we are three adults and one kid) for 3days and 2 nights.  Thanks to the Travel Fair last February J

Our stay at Alta Vista de Boracay was a very pleasant one.  This is one hotel you must stay at when you’re a Boracay and you plan to splurge on because the price you will pay is really worth all the beautiful things and memories you will have at Alta Vista.
